My practice is primarily focused on painting silhouettes, which is a visual form
that has been present my whole life.

    --Christopher Peter, painter

Christopher Peter creates original contemporary artworks that explore the interplay between figurative silhouettes, florals, and abstraction. His practice blurs the boundaries between these disciplines, combining unconventional materials—including handmade papers, gold and silver leaf, marbled textiles, vintage roadmaps, and repurposed book pages—with acrylic and oil paints to produce layered, visually dynamic compositions.

Christopher’s signature focus on silhouettes is rooted in family tradition: his grandmother made shadow cutouts of relatives, a practice he has expanded into a contemporary painting language. He now captures friends, models, clients, and loved ones, bringing a deeply personal and inclusive perspective to each piece.

Inspired by artists who push technical and material boundaries—such as Mark Bradford, Avery Singer, and Gerhard Richter—Christopher continually experiments with surfaces, color, and scale.
